About Chris
Authentic Tai Chi Chuan. I have ben teaching in the Cleveland area professionally about five years. I taught family and friends many years before as this is my passion. I give very precise details in a patient manner. I am very much in tuned with the students needs and can help them excel in forms practice and or self defense. I have guided many people to a state of relaxation, confidence and well being.
It allows me to stay in constant practice. As I am teaching and sharing with others I am also constantly growing. I am always demonstrating and practicing right alongside my students. I love when People leave my sessions having learned something new or finding a new level to something they already knew. I also love it when people thank me as they leave because they are feeling relaxed yet energized, refreshed and excited.
I began teaching family and friends around 25 years ago sharing the knowledge that I had at the time as I continued my training. My teachers were encouraging me to begin teaching. Around five years afo my cousin was suffering with cancer and sge started a GoFundMe project to raise money. I began to teach in local parks to raise money for her cause. After that I began to establish a client base and realized that I loved to teach and it just sort of grew from there
I begun Martial Arts at an early age taking Karate at Karamu and also with Ken Ferguson in the 70's around the age of 5 through 7. From that I learned the basics and began to Wrestle and continue with Kung Fu. I have trained with Immortal Palm in Cleveland, Tar San Young Bak Mei Kung Fu, Supreme Ultimate Martial Arts with Sifu Lester Holmes in Ft. Lauderdale also occosianlly continuing my training with Chen Taiji Ohio in Columbus, and American Chen Taiji Association in San Francisco. I am certified as a Senior Instructor through Tai Chi Healthways under Master Jesse Tsao.

When working with new students I like to explain the fundamentals and philosophy behind the art then demonstrate them in application. Each art has it's own theories and training techniques. This helps the student to understand the goals of the particular style and absorb it on more than one level. Then we start with the basics and begin to build a solid foundation upon which to grow.
I work with all ages and capabilities. I teach kid classes. Regular Adult classes and classes for Senior citizens. Some people are looking for health and longevity and others are looking for self defense, I am able to help each person with their goals. I am also a member of a group call Loving hands and we teach Seniors with dimishing capabilities as well as special needs kids.
Talk to the teacher and ask them why they teach. Do they seem passionate about it? Ask them about their experience and their teachers. Ask them to demonstrate form or technique if they did not already. Pay close attention to how you feel about the teacher, what type of vibes are you getting. Teacher/Student relationship is very important in the growth of a potential student. Sometimes it may be necessary to talk to more than a couple teachers before making a decision.
I am particularly fond of the last Workshop that I gave in January. Some martial arts friends of mine as well as students came to a workshop that I gave on self defense, whole body connectivity and exercise utlizing a Tai Chi Ball. Some people come from different states and regions. The comeraderie at the event made it worthwhile all by itself and the knowledge I get to share took it over the top. Getting together with people who share common interest is always great interaction and the conversation stimulating. Even after the event we go out and dine together, we seem more like family than a group of martual artist.

Details
I generally charge $50.00 for individual lesson or a discounted price of $150 for four lessons if paid up front. I also do group and small group private lesson that start at $50 for the first person and $25.00 for additional participants. Corporate classes with many participants can get a negotiable flat rate. Open group classes are $90.00 for six week sessions and are according to the schedule as seen on the classes page of our website.
