About Kiana
I am a current SU engineering student, who can help individuals improve their grades in math and science. I also strive to demonstrate important online academic tools and to teach how to properly use them to improve academic standing. I also can help students with reading comprehension and writing skills. My main goal is to help struggling students be more confident in their academics and their ability to excel.
I mainly teach middle school or high school students in these areas. I have experience working at aftercare centers and summer camps teaching students, helping them with their summer projects and advising them of beneficial learning techniques.
I can also help individuals with test taking, standardize testing in their grade level and major essays and projects. These range from middle school standardize testing to SATs and college essays.
I am available for the upcoming summer and fall and look forward to helping support kids in their academic endeavors.
I have worked with students before as a after care helper and summer camp counselor. I have tutored students before in areas such as math and science.
I also have three siblings that I also assist with their work. One of siblings is autistic and I have helped him build his confidence in school before.

I first try to gauge their understanding of the material. I search for what areas they lack in and what areas they excel in. I usually establish a plan or goal after the first session and discuss it with the individual. From there I work to help the student be able to work through their struggles and understanding. I also reinforce the areas in which they excel to help with balancing out our sessions.

Details
I charge an initial $100 for four guarenteed sessions (1 hour each). From there on I charge a $25 hourly fee and expect to be paid before or at the start of a tutoring session
