About Lucille
There is nothing like the moment when a student looks up and says "I understand." That is my best part of being a tutor, when a student realizes that they are capable of understanding even the most difficult consepts. Nothing is too hard to learn, it just has to be learned right.
I have always loved to help others learn, since I enjoy learning so much myself. I first began tutoring in highschool at a local elementary school for under priviledged girls.
I completed Calculus in highschool, scored very high on the math portion of the SAT, and am taking calculus in college as well. I volunteered as a math tutor in highschool, and worked as a math tutor in college. I also tutored many of my friends in calculus.

I start out by trying to understand which concept the student has the most difficulty with. Once that has become clear, I do my best to help the student become more familiar with this concept so that they no longer find it difficult or intimidating. I try to figure out what exactly it is that they don't understand, and then attempt to explain the concept in different ways so that are able to gain a better understanding.
Look for someone who you think will understand mathamatical concepts the way you understand them. A tutor who thinks similarly to his or her student will always be the best because they will not only be able to understand why the student has difficulty with a concept, but they will also most likely know the best wat to explain it to them.
