About Janee
I used to work for an afterschool program that specialized in homework help and turtoring from 2013 to 2020. I also started as a Substitute Teacher for The New Brunswick Board Of Education in February 2017.
I have worked at an after school program specializing in after-school help and tutuoring since 2009 until 2017. I have taught with The New Brunswick Board Of Education from February 2017 to January 2020. I have also been a nanny helping with homework help since 2014 to current.

My process when working with a new student is just going over a few simple problems, giving a mini test just to see how a child performs or even learns. Some children can do mental math and some need visual prompts to engage them. I like to first understan how a child learns so that I can know how to help and engage a child.
I have worked with students of all ages from 3 years old to 13 years old. I have helped tutor children from 1st grade to 8th grade students.
When looking for a teacher a student should look for someone who is engaged in the way that they think and learn, a teacher who will ask them questions about how they like to learn, a teacher asking them what they dislike about a subject. A teacher who will ask the student what are some difficulties that they have with the subject.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Some questions that students should think through before talking to teachers about their needs are How do they learn? Do they like visual prompts? Do they prefer to try to work out the problem alone or for the teacher to go step by step first? Do they have trouble understanding word problems or solving the problem? Do they feel overwhelmed when taking a test or exam? Do they feel shy when they are asked to do word problems or come to the board to answer questions in class? What helps to keep them engaged in a subject?

Pricing for my lessons start at $50 an hour for one subject, if I will be tutoring more than one subject I go up to $75 an hour.
