About Jillian
Hi! My name is Jillian and I’m a 27 year old occupational therapist. I have widespread experience as a tutor, and I have been working with kids for 10 years. I am a certified CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) Tutor in the subjects of: English, Math (up to and including Calculus II), Physics, Biology, Chemistry (up to and including Organic Chemistry), Psychology, Organization/Executive Functioning. I worked as CRLA Tutor/Scribe/Advocate in a Disability Support Services Office at Montgomery College, where I empowered students to set and accomplish their personal, scholastic and career goals by teaching academic and advocacy skills, eliminating the physical, technical, and attitudinal barriers that limit opportunities and equal access to their education, and promoting an awareness of the experience of students within social, political, and economic constructs. I studied abroad in Australia, where I volunteered as a Teaching Assistant to help English as a Second Language (ESL) students and refugees develop literacy and numeracy skills. I am a certified spin instructor, swim instructor, lifeguard, and I have my certification in Basic Life Skills (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from American Heart Association, and First Aid from American Red Cross.
