About Tony
My extensive experience tutoring students of various academic backgrounds allows me to cater every session to the individual student based on their needs. I strive to provide clear, and intuitive explanations for various topics, and focus on making connections with previously acquired knowledge to ensure new concepts and ideas stick.
I enjoy learning something new during each tutoring session, and put forth my full effort to make the experience as enjoyable and productive for my students as for myself. I am deeply passionate about math and physics, and truly enjoy being able to convey that to my students in ways that are relevant and interesting to them.
I first tutored students the summer after I graduated high school in high school math. It was a very fun and enriching experience both for my students and for myself, and have continued to tutor and teach ever since.
I was a Stanford Peer Tutor for two years, and served as a lead tutor for one year. That gave me extensive tutoring training with a variety of students in a variety of subjects.

First, I understand their previous academic preparation to identify areas for improvement early on. As we work through various problems and exercises, I get a better sense of what is there and what is missing, and cater my lessons to help each student improve in specific areas.
Students just trying to get through trigonometry and precalculus, students interested in learning how introductory physics concepts apply to more advanced ones, students who had never taken physics before, students who had done well in math classes previously but were struggling with linear algebra, the list goes on.
Look for teachers that cater the experience to the individual student. All too often, teachers have cookie-cutter lessons that don't work for every student, so look for individual attention!
Hearing a student congratulate me on my achievements. I usually congratulate my students and encourage them to push on with every new academic step they take, but hearing them congratualate me was quite special.

Details
It depends on the course material. For introductory courses, I charge $40/hour and for intermediate courses, I charge $50/hour or $60/hour depending on the subject.
