About Zach

I am very interested in tutoring specifically the math portion of the SAT but can tutor other subjects as well. I got an 800 on my math SAT and took several math courses as an undergraduate. I graduated last year from Vanderbilt University with a 3.8 GPA and Magna Cum Laude honors, with a B.A. in Psychology.

Methodology

My teaching method is largely geared towards the individual student. I will work with you on your weaknesses and prepare for our lessons ahead of time in a targeted way. I have a very gentle teaching style and I will not discourage you but I will make sure that we can make adequate progress.

I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a 3.8 GPA & magna cum laude, and obtained my MS in Cognitive Psychology. I scored a 800/800 on my Math SAT and am currently pursuing my Masters In Accounting Degree and CPA while in Business School.

I also have 5 years of professional experience within the consulting industry working with individuals and organizations of diverse backgrounds including coaching, hiring, and development.

Education

Zicklin School of Business Master of Science - MS · (2021 - 2022)

The New School Master's Degree, Cognitive, Clinical and Applied Psychology · (2012 - 2014)

Vanderbilt University Bachelor's Degree, Psychology; Magna Cum Laude · (2007 - 2011)

About the lesson

My teaching method is largely geared towards the individual student. I will work with you on your weaknesses and prepare for our lessons ahead of time in a targeted way. I have a very gentle teaching style and I will not discourage you but I will make sure that we are able to make adequate progress.

I work with students to build base skills and confidence, while also addressing urgent needs (assignment due next day, upcoming test, etc.)

I am an easy going tutor who likes to have fun while learning. I look forward to building confidence, and making sure students can be successful in courses and life!

Excellent! I've only had two sessions this far, but Zach has the patience I need to develop my confidence in this discipline.

They say “results are everything” and this rang true in our experience with Zach. My son’s SAT score went up almost 100 points, which has allowed him to competitively apply to his top tier choice of colleges. My son was not interested in doing the online tutoring program until he spent one hour with Zach and knew it would be worth the work. Zach uses Facetime, a white board, and a workbook so seamlessly that my son felt he was sitting right next to him at a table. Zach focused on the exact subject and questions my son was having trouble with and wasted no time. He was articulate and concise, and also held my son accountable to finish all of his practice tests. Going over the results of the practice tests was also productive and even fun. I highly recommend Zach

I was very impressed! Not only a professional individual, he is well versed at what he does. I can see my son actually enjoying classes she once dreaded. Zach has been super flexible and accommodating! Highly recommend.
