About Cobey
When it comes to tutoring students, you learn that each student works at different paces, but you have to be patient and willing to work with a student. I have that source and understanding as I am a student. I am learning every day, just like my tutored students. Working with students has been a passion from a young age, and as I am pursuing my Teaching Credentials, it shows that I have the power and scope to teach and evolve for myself and the students in my pathway.
When working with students, I am prouder because they get the correct answer and understand the subject matter. I know I have done my job when I can work with a student, and they can take what I have been teaching them and repeat it back to me as this is a new topic for me to learn. It takes time to learn the subject, and it is about how that student is working and persevering in the subject matter, not just a single answer.
I am working on my Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a Subject Matter Preparation Program Concentration at California State University, Monterey Bay. I have worked as a Instructional Student Assistant at CSUMB and a Teachers Assistant at Seaside High School.

I will schedule a phone meeting or in-person meeting with the Parents/guardians of a respective student. From there, we will discuss the students' services for the Tutoring from Subject/Topic, Hours of Service, Payment plans, Introduction of the Student to Tutor and Tutor regulation, rules and materials needed.
From that point on, once the meeting has been established, I will begin working with a student on the respective lessons and materials needed for the success of the course. For all tutoring sessions that I conduct with students, I require a Parent or Guardian present at all times.
