About Madeline
I have tutored kids of all ages in the past, mostly in math and science. I have a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science and have taken math courses up to college level Calculus I and Statistics. I also completed a thesis using statistical analyses in my undergraduate career.
I love helping people understand elusive or complex materials in ways that work for them. I work best with middle school students, especially those struggling with the beginnings of algebra and geometry. Understanding the fundamentals now, and how to work out problems on their own, is essential for middleschoolers to excel in their future with math.
I volunteered as an aide in first grade classrooms starting in middle school, then moved on to tutoring students of all ages in middle school. I have tutored middle schoolers in pre-algebra and above, and high schoolers up to triginometry.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science from the Ohio State University. I have tutored children of all ages in all subjects before and my main subject areas are math, science and reading.

I typically begin with asking the student or their parents (depending on age) for their area of issue and what grade level they are proficient at. I use a combination of standards for their class or grade level and the actual work they are completeing to formulate a plan to help them understand the work.

Be cognizant of what you need. Do you need better explanations? more practice problems? step by step breakdowns? Are you behind and need caught up? Do you struggle to pay attention and need one on one for focus? know what you need will help your tutor provide the best service possible.

Details
Basic pricing is negotiable, but $10 an hour is standard to begin with. If I am creating fully my own lessons and problems the price increases with time I take outside of the lesson.
