About Alexandra
Hello! I've been a math teacher in the Georgia public school system for 19 years. I've taught mainly Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, PreCalc and AP Calc AB. That doesn't mean I can't help with other subjects, but those are the ones I've taught. I am passionate about helping students learn math and try to meet students where they are math-wise and personality-wise. No judgement.
Honestly, I've been helping people in math since I was in high school.
Masters degree, gifted certification, AP Calculus AB certification, and esol certification.

Preferably you e-mail me first and describe your situation. I will try to pick up on what kind of math learner you are, what your needs are, and what you want ideally from me. That way, when we get start, we can use the whole hour on what you actually need and want.
All levels - from students who didn't know how much money a nickel was worth to students who got into harvard and MIT.
Try to communicate with the tutor first to see if you feel like you can learn from this tutor. Is the communication clear? Do they waste your time and money?

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What is your goal? To pass a test? To be able to teach it to somebody else? Do you want to be told "tricks" on getting the answer or do you want to actually understand where equations come from in the first place. Those are extremes, but I think it's important to be HONEST and have no shame in stating what you want from your tutor.
