About Lucas
I am currently a high school senior in New York State. I have been taking the most advanced math and physics track available to me since middle school, and have received an A or better each year. My success stems from genuine interest in mathematical concepts, and my desire to learn more about how the world around me works using numbers and variables. This is my first time officially tutoring, but I have been helping friends, classmates, and my younger brother for a long time.
I started tutoring by helping friends, classmates, my brother, and even my parents.
Honors Algebra I, Algebra II BC/Trigonometry (advanced), Honors Geometry, Precalculus BC, and currently taking AP Calculus BC

The first lesson will be free, so that the student can see if he/she/they would benefit from my tutoring. In this first lesson and the first few lessons, I will ask them what they are having problems with, and focus and the biggest problems. Then I will ask them for the unit they are covering, and ask for a copy of the homework or classwork, so I can get a sense of the type of problems and coursework the student is engaging in. From there I will work to help the student understand the material, adapting to the student's needs.
As this is my first year tutoring, I have not had much experience, but I am great with kids, patient, and understanding, all of which, combined with advanced knowledge in math and physics, will help me lead students to success.

First lesson is free and acts as a trial. If the student decides to continue working with me, I will charge $20/hr, given the average wage for tutors is about $15-$25 per hour.
