About Keyra
I enjoy teaching younger students math. Learning is important and school can be stressful! Working as a team, we can ensure you understand the material and can take an exam confidently. I have been tutoring since I was in 5th grade, to my younger brother. I also tutored my peers throughout middle school. I am a straight A+ student.
I started teaching when my younger sibling was having difficulty in school. My teachers recommended me to sign up as a tutor at school and I began tutoring other students as well.
I have tutored 7th grade and younger. I am a Junior in High School and I am homeschooled. I currently take Algebra II and have an A+ in the class.

First, understanding how the student prefers to learn and learns best is important. Discussing what they are having trouble understanding is also very important. It could be a simple mistake or slight confusion! I also like to get to know what kind of student they are.
I have worked with students that have a learning disability, students with ADHD, and students who were failing their exams. It is important to me that no matter what obstacle is presented to the student, they overcome it or learn how to manage it.
The advice I would give a student looking to hire a teacher in my area of expertise is to ensure that the teacher is willing to help you succeed under any circumstances. You want someone who loves what they do and is going to put their all into helping you understand the material.
A recent event I am fond of is talking a friend out of making a poor decision. I helped them think rationally and was honest. It is important to have someone that cares for you and is there for you. I wanted to be that person. I only have good intentions and never want to cause anyone harm.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think about how willing they are to get help. They should know that teachers are only here to help and should be comfortable and open with their teacher.
