About Julia
I just completed my third year of teaching high school math. I have taught different levels of algebra and also trigonometry. Aside from teaching in the classroom, I've also taught classes virtually.
Teaching has been an amazing experience! I absolutely love to help students strengthen their skills and lower some of that math stress and anxiety. It's truly incredible witnessing apprehensive students grow into experienced learners. I still learn so much every day and I’m always trying to find the teaching method that best fits the student's needs.
I've always had strong math skills and an interest in helping others. I decided I wanted to be a math teacher when I was in high school because of how much I looked up to my math teachers.
I have been a high school math teacher for 3 years. I also have a Bachelor's in Mathematics and a Master's in Education.

First, I determine what skills the new student already has. Once I know a good starting point, I can begin to help them strengthen their mathematical foundation.
I have worked with students between the ages of 13 and 18. I also have experience teaching all levels including standard, college prep, and honors.
Be comfortable making mistakes and always try your best. Math teachers understand that is it sometimes a struggle to learn the material, but we are only here to help.
A student who I had last year shared meaningful feedback with me recently about my effect as a teacher. She shared that she has always struggled with math but my class was the first one that finally made sense to her. That gave me reassurance that I'm making a difference!
