About Christian
Ever since I tutored freshmen at my high school, I have enjoyed working with others so that they can succeed in their math courses. I'm currently a college freshman hoping to earn a bachelor's degree in math, and I know that math can feel daunting at times. My hope is to help other students can overcome their struggles in the subject.
I first started teaching during my senior year of high school, as one of my periods was dedicated to tutoring a math class of high school freshman.
I just earned my high school diploma in June of 2022. During high school, I had straight A's and earned 5's on my AP Calculus AB and BC exams. I am currently enrolled at Fresno State as a math major.

First, I would like to figure out what exactly is confusing the student so that I can make it easier for them to understand. I try to make concepts easy to learn by using real world objects or examples. I also like to work each step of a problem with students and give them more examples from their homework as well as some made-up problems.
I have worked with high school freshman who struggled with their basic math courses. Those students, despite their lower grades, were very intelligent. They often had self doubt or struggled to understand where to apply what they learned.
I would recommend that the student contact a teacher and talk about what they are struggling with and what math courses they are taking. That way, a teacher can have a better idea of how and where to help the student before the tutoring sessions begin.
