About Sylvia
Hi, my name is Sylvia! A fun fact about me is that I can recite every line of the movie The Princess Bride. I also love working with students. The most rewarding part of tutoring for me is when a new concept “clicks” with a student - their excitement is contagious, and it’s a privilege to be able to help them reach that point! On a personal level, I am a friendly, outdoorsy, athletic, and talkative type of person!
I partner with students on a one-on-one basis in STEM subjects through SoFlo Tutors, my tutoring agency. I studied Economics at the University of St. Andrews and have been tutoring for 2 years. At SoFlo, we work to raise grades, strengthen understanding, and increase confidence. Since Math and Science tend to build on themselves, our methodology is to identify gaps in a student’s knowledge of a subject and help to fill them in with individualized lessons!
