About Tom
I received my BS and MS in Materials Science/Metallurgy...a hybrid of chemistry and applied physics from Purdue University. After graduate school I worked for 20 years at Intel in various capacities in the development of applied physics research equiment, measurement tools, materials sythesis, and process interactions. I hold 4 patents, have 15 publications and over 400 citations. I now run a consulting business with my most recent project with a laser startup in Ukraine. Spent 3.5 years doing pure research in Belgium at KU Leuven. Love travel and now at 53 countries.
One of my great joys was teaching and mentoring Masters and PhD candidates to have fun and jump into new projects. Sharing my experiences in applied situations can be so much more fun than learning abstract concepts.
