About Dr Alissa
I am a certified public magnet school teacher with over 20 years of experience tutoring privately. Currently teaching Geometry, Math Intervention and AP Calculus. Passionate about helping students make meaning of math, as opposed to just memorizing algorithms. Highly rated here and on other sites with strong refrrences available from parents (including Yale faculty members). Currently tutoring students in grades 2-12 and beyond.
I really love the messages students send me when something clicks for them, when they achieve a new goal, or when they just want say hello after they no longer require my support.
My mother was a teacher and I followed in her footsteps because I always enjoyed volunteering in her classroom.
B.S. in Applied Mathematics, B.A in English, M.S. in Educational Psychology, Doctorate in Education.

Nice person, easy to work withPerfect! Dr. Levy is simply the best tutor we have ever hired! Her ability to make the student feel comfortable and confident is truly special. I don’t want to say more as I need her for the next two years and can’t afford to be fighting with everyone
else for her time.Perfect! My 9-year-old daughter loves Dr. Levy's patience and also the way she breaks down math concepts into ways that are easier to understand.
Perfect! Alissa has been an excellent math tutor for my granddaughter, a college algebra student. Highly recommend!
