About Neha
I have worked with high-school students for two years and assisted them with topics of mathematics and homework. I tailor the needs of each student by understanding their learning style. I am currently a math major and an education minor at UC Davis and I understand the importance of learning with a purpose. I truly wish to help the student learn the material rather than just learning to solve an example. Application of rules and techniques are the real-world skills that a student can learn by learning how to solve problems from the topics that they know. I want to be the guidance between the student and their application of mathematical skills.
Knowing that I can help a student reduce some stress related to homework gives me relief. I also believe that sometimes it is the stigma around math that makes it difficult to learn. So, if I can help a student build a strong math base or with homework, I feel accomplished because that student can now learn more based on that knowledge.
I love explaining math concepts to my peers and once I had an opportunity to tutor high school students at my community college. During that period, I gained valuable experience working with students one to one. That experience made me take the decision of becoming an educator someday.

I ask the student to provide me with the topics that they need help with and if there is an assignment that needs to be completed along with it. I would ask them some prerequisite questions to understand their understanding. Then, I would move ahead and explain the concept. I would ask them small questions after every topic to see if they understood.
I have worked with students from the grade of 8 to 12.
