Ruben Acevedo is an excellent researcher and tutor. Over the summer, he taught me how to be an excellent researcher and over the semester he taught me how to effectively use CAD.

I enjoyed Ruben's close assistance with great knowledge over his area and he maintained a close surveillance at first to assist with research so it goes well. He also let students on their own to be creative, rather than to be restricted of structured research.

During Summer of 2018, Ruben has diligently tutored me in improving my approach to circuit analysis and pin-pointed defects in my CAD designs. What I appreciated the most was his patience and the fact that he was very precise in his methodology – If a mathematical calculation was wrong or if a design could be improved, Ruben would explain why such an error is wrong and would tailor an appropriate solution to the problem. Additionally, after reading research papers, I would highlight the main ideas and discuss said ideas with Ruben to confirm if my thought process was in the correct direction. Overall, he is an excellent tutor who is always willing to lend a helping hand and has a great attitude to teach. I was able to improve my grade in circuit engineering thanks to his persistent guidance and vast knowledge.
