About Martina
Math and physics are my favorite subjects at school. I have been enrolled in advanced math classes since I was 9 years old. I currently enrolled in Calculus 3, AP Prob Stat, Linear Algebra and AP Physics C, which are some of the most challenging math and physics classes availiable to take at my school. I am seeking to pursue math or physics in a college degree.
Math is a subject like no other. You can't memorize a list of facts and expect to know it. You need to be able to think logically and understand the concepts behind what you're doing. This is what makes math so intersting. With two younger sisters, I've helped them develop their math abilities and suprisingly, even admit they think math is fun.
I love learning! I want more kids to love learning as well, but it is hard to love learning if you do not understand what you are learning. Understanding your school work not only helps kids improve their grades, but grow a passion for learning, and nothing could make me happier.

The first thing I do is look through the students previous work to understand the student's work ethic, abilities, and see where help is most needed. After understanding the student's level, I go through the topics they are struggling with. It is very important to explain the problems to the student and have them work through a problem with you, but then observe the student do a problem on their own, assisting if needed, to ensure they have actually learned the ability.
