About Julia
I am sincerely dedicated to helping students achieve their goals and enjoy the journey along the way. As a junior in highschool, I have racked up over 50 hours of English As a Second Language tutoring with students in Thailand, using various methods of explanation in both English and Thai to maximise understanding in various concepts from memorizing the alphabet to writing synthesis essays. Last year, I recieved a Certificate of Excellence Award in English 10 Honors. I can tutor anyone who needs an aid in English, ranging from accent work to creative writing.
As a student myself, I can say that many of my peers enjoy the eureka moment when solving a difficult math problem. Catering to middle school, elementary, and kindergarten levels, I strive to aid students in grasping concepts, success, and hopefully sparking those eureka moments every once in a while.
I enjoy tutoring so much because it has granted me opportunities to learn about new cultures, experiences, and learning methods unique to every person I work with. In turn, I can benefit from this and learn myself! As someone who is holding dual citizenship and has travelled to over 15 countries, tutoring, especially online, allows me to reach others and broaden my horizons - no matter where that may be.

1. Typical questions I may ask:
- What is your goal in this tutoring session? What is your long term goal regarding this subject or concept?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses in the concept? How is your attitude towards this concept/subject? How are you feeling about it?
2. Next, I will ask the student to prepare materials and/or homework for the session, preferably a few days beforehand so full learning capacity is reached! Additionally, is the syllabus necessary for my judgement of goals in the class, if there is one? Etc.
3. After receiving materials, I will be preparing and making sure our goals align. Let the learning begin!
