About Sarah

Hello,

My name is Sarah Tesone and I currently teach for Buckye Online. Unlike many online schools, we have live virtual classes, which means live classes with students from 8:15 - 3:15. I have taught fourth through sixth grade math and english as well as junior level english and algebra 2. I offered to move to the high school when a teacher was looking to work with younger students. I told my boss that I would gladly move if she felt that I would do well in the high school, she told me she thought it would be a great fit and that the students really needed a teacher like me. I graduated with my masters in May of 2022 from Youngstown State University.

I always knew I wanted to work with children and I helped as much as I could at my church with youth groups. A little girl at church was born with pretty serious disabilities and I loved working with her. I raised being an intervention specialist was for me.

I teach online in Ohio full-time. 2022-2023 is my 6th year teaching. I graduated with my masters in special education in May of 2022. I taught 4th-6th before this year. This year I am working mainly with juniors In algebra 2 and English 3.

About the lesson

Meet with parents and see what the want and what schedule works for them. Talk with the student about what the feel they need help with. Get materials and start working.

I have worked with students who didn't know their letter names or sounds and didn't know their numbers as well as working with a student who wants to become a wild life veterinarian. I've worked with student with defiance disorder and students who do everything possible to make their teachers and parents proud.

Always try your best and let me know when something confuses you. I never get upset with a child for trying. If you mess up if let's me see what we need to work on.

I was on the phone with a parent to discuss that their child had been selected for student of the week. The mom thanked me for all I do with her son in class because he told her he loves school again.

Ì am a very understanding person, please ask away. I knew some days are harder than others and that situations that kids have no control over may impact the way they learn that day.
