About Nicholas
Hi, I’m Nick, founder of Lucid Learning Prep. I’ve spent 8+ years tutoring students across a wide range of ages, subjects, and learning environments, from elementary and middle school through high school and college.
My approach is positive, patient, and highly personalized. I take the time to listen to each student, understand how they learn, and adjust my teaching accordingly. I especially enjoy breaking down difficult concepts into something clear and manageable and helping students become more confident when approaching challenging material.
I believe great tutoring should do more than help a student get through the next test. My goal is to help students develop stronger critical-thinking skills, effective study habits, better learning systems, and greater independence over time.
I currently specialize in SAT & ACT preparation, academic tutoring, and executive function coaching. I incorporate strong executive functioning habits into all of my tutoring sessions through tools like homework trackers, weekly progress updates, and diagnostic assignments that help identify skill gaps and clarify what students should focus on next.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music with a focus in Jazz Studies from Sonoma State University and a Master’s degree in Biological Data Science from Arizona State University. That interdisciplinary background has helped me become comfortable teaching across a broad range of subjects and adapting to different types of learners.
Most importantly, I want students to leave our sessions feeling supported, more confident, and clear about what to work on next. I look forward to connecting with you and learning more about how I can best support your student's goals!
