I have a modern approach to teaching a traditional art. With over 25 years of experience, I approach each student as an individual and coach them in a manner that best suits their physical and emotional needs.

I believe the practice of martial arts has the ability to help people improve their lives and the lives of everyone they come into contact with.

I've always enjoyed helping others learn new skills. It was a natural process for me to move into teaching martial arts. My first teaching "job" was in 2002, when I taught kick boxing at a gym in Southern California.

Over 25 years martial arts experience, as well as experience working as a personal trainer and kick boxing instructor. Certified Instructor by the Atlantic Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation.

About the lesson

If it's a child, I make sure they have a chance to get comfortable with me and the environment, then I gauge their physical and emotional ability to work on things that are new and challenging.

With teens and adults, I have a conversation about their goals and their athletic background so we can set realistic expectations for their progress.

My students have ranged in age from 3 to 78 years old. I've worked with special needs children and adults with health issues as well as people in perfect health.

Approach the martial arts not as a hobby, but as a system to help you navigate life. Look for an instructor that has similar morals and values to your own. Don't settle!

Belt testings are always a special time for me. My students get to display their newly acquired skills and build more confidence on themselves.

Testing also provides me with an opportunity to see where I can improve as an instructor.

Do you have enough free time to give martial arts a good try? I recommend no less than 2 days a week.

Do you want a school that is more family oriented, sport centric or realistic in their approach to teaching martial arts?
