About Kylie
I am quite young, and since I am a senior in college I am fresh out of the education system. The strategies and principles I apply to my teaching are the most modern takes on education, and are greatly influenced by my own experiences in school. I not only want to help students understand the material, I want to help student enjoy the material.
I love working with students in general, but my favorite part is seeing the interest spark in them. History can be a boring subject when taught by the wrong person, so I do my best to make history come alive, and it makes me so happy when students come alive along with it.
I had a couple of history teachers in high school that really inspired me and made me love learning again, and I decided that is how I wanted to make a difference in people's lives. I want to help students realize how fun learning can be.
I am a senior at the University of Kansas, studying secondary education and history. I wrote my Undergraduate Thesis on topics in European History.
I worked as a substitute teacher during my Junior year of university.
Although I have not worked as a full-time teacher in the classroom, I am young and fresh, and very eager to work with students. I bring a more unique perspective into my teaching because of my younger age, since I was in school not too long ago.

Make sure you are compatible with that teacher. Choose someone whose teaching philosophy lines up with how you want to learn, and what you want from the learning experience. If you are not compatible, you won't be motivated to learn and it will be a more painful experience that necessary.
