About Rebecca
I have a passion for Social Studies, especially United States History and Government. I can help students understand historical and current concepts in fresh ways. There are many exciting ways to present the social sciences beyond rote memorization. I want students to love learning and develop critical academic skills that can be used beyond the classroom.
I have 15 years experience in Social Science secondary public education. This includes classroom instruction and curriculum development. I have a BS in both History and Social Science Education as well as a MS in Social Sciences. I am a certified Professional Educator in the state of CT for grades 7-12.
I am passionate about the Social Sciences and imparting that knowledge and love on to the younger generations is my goal.
I have 15 years experience as a secondary level Social Studies teacher. My content knowledge is extensive but I am also skilled in the art of instruction itself. This is perhaps the most important skill a teacher must possess.

It is important to first assess the individual needs of the student and what he/she wants to accomplish. Setting goals based on the desired outcome and tayloring the instruction to the student's individual strengths and competencies is also key.
