About Shu
Hello, my name is Shu Nakamura.
I am a full time musician, a music producer, and a founder of Ninja Academy of Music.
I teach music for all ages (in both English and Japanese!).
This is my background for short...
I was born and raised in Japan, have been loving music, started playing guitar when I was 10 years old, joined many bands including one of those professional Beatles cover bands, became a guitar instructor in Yamaha Music School.
I moved to NY in 1999 to join one of my friends' band to record albums and tours, then decided to stay here in NY to pursue my music life.
Since then, I joined many NY local bands with countless live performances, some off-broadway musicals, recording sessions, tours in many States - Europe - Japan, producing of artists and myself.
It has been musically very interesting, exploring and fun years to me.
In 2015, I came up with this idea as to share my musical experiences with people, so I founded Ninja Academy of Music.
Music is an amazing tool to communicate with others without talking, and to train / maintain / connect your brain with your body. This also helps you to heal your feeling, helps control / improve your concentration ability in daily life as a meditation as well.
My goal is to share this amazing skill with many people.
