About Ann
It is my pleasure to offer my qualifications for tutoring in French as a skilled and enthusiastic individual with experience supporting students outside of the classroom to meet academic challenges and prepare for examinations (AP French, DELF ... ). I have 15 years of experience teaching French lessons to students ranging from beginner to advanced.
I utilize engaging, hands-on educational methods to facilitate a fun, personalized approach to learning while stimulating students’ enjoyment and appreciation for the subjects. Over the time I learned how to evaluate students’ learning capabilities and needs, and help them through assignments, and suggest new learning techniques ; those are just a few of the areas in which I excel. By tutoring students across a range of subjects and capacities, I have sharpened my communication, creativity, and motivational skills.
I am certified in French by the Massachusetts Department of Education and I have a Master in Education from Lesley University (and a PhD in computer science). I have a long experience in teaching in different countries (Canada, France, Middle East, Africa, Haiti) and at different levels: I taught adults and children and I started tutoring 15 years ago. Presently I am teaching French in a public High School (all years and levels including AP French.) I am a French native speaker.

I have a Master in Education from Lesley University and a teaching license from the Massachusetts.
I teach AP in junior year and prepare the seniors to the DELF exam (B1 and B2 levels.)

Perfect! I have tried a bit on my own to learn French but could not get far. After lessons with Anne, I realized what I was missing. She teaches very systematically, and within three months, I feel I have a grasp of the structure of the language. She is very responsive to your needs and structures the lessons according to where you might need more practice. She asks in the beginning about the goals behind your lesson. For instance, I had indicated that I want to reach a point where I understand spoken French and I did not care much about being able to be grammatically correct in writing or even being to speak, as long as I get what French speakers are saying. She therefore incorporated many listening exercises in her lessons and that has really helped me get the sounds of the language.

Anne was excellent in helping me prepare for the DELF examination. Her lessons were always well prepared and structured. She used different methods in tutoring me French--written exercises, conjugation drills, listening drills, and oral presentation. Anne also help me trust my ability to succeed, which is very important when learning a new language. Anne was recommended to me and I strongly recommend her. I credit her with my success with the DELF Exam.
It was a very pragmatic experience. Five weeks of intense bootcamp styled preparation for the AP French exam. Straight to the point we worked the how of the exam and briefly the content. Overall an enlightening experience.
Mrs Pons has proven to be very knowledgeable of her subject as well as her teaching methods. This has been a great experience which has allowed me to feel really well prepared for my TEFAQ!! Her patience and dedication to the subject is clear and i would definitely recommend her for any French tutoring!
Anne is a fantastic tutor! As I am an American living and studying in Montreal with the goal of eventually immigrating here, I have to pass the Québec French literacy test (TEFAQ). I feel incredibly prepared and have noticed a significant increase in my knowledge and comfortability with the French language. I have no doubt that I will soon pass the exam with flying colors.
