About Henry

I am from Wales in the UK and I moved to Vietnam in 2015 to persue a career teaching English as a second language. What began just teaching simple vocabulary to kids, has expanded into imrpving the English for teenagers and adults from all walks of life.

I am extremely experienced in imrproving vocabulary for my students, helping students with their pronunciation to sound more natural, improving writing skills and also preparing students for important tests that can help shape their future.

My qualifications and experience are as follows:

Bachelor of Laws degree from a U.K university

Camrbidge CELTA certified teacher (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) 2016

1 years experience working in ILA (A local language centre in Vietnam)

4 years experience working in British Council in Vietnam (AnEnglish language learning organisation that is found in 110 countries around the world)

I have been working as an English teacher for over 5 years and I really love it when I can help make an improvement in people's lives.

I get a feeling of satisfaction when my students are enjoying my classes and participating enthusiastically. When I teach new vocabulary or any sort of new language, and the students are using and applying the new things they have learnt in a natural conversation, it makes me feel happy and it makes me feel like I have given them something extrremely valuable.

About the lesson

I do a needs analysis which basically means asking the student(s) what exactly they want from the class, how they want it done by e.g. games, worksheet exercises, learning from videos etc... and in what time frame.

Then I plan my lessons accordingly based on the information my student(s) give me, which goes a long way in making my lessons engaging and ensuring my students get the most out of each lesson.
