I really believe in a holistic learning experience for students of all ages. Grade school is hard! Educators should take all aspects of a student into consideration when teaching: their personality, learning habits, likes and dislikes, and environment, to name a few. Applying to college is also a challenging and stressful experience-- one that I hope to make less anxiety-inducing and more exciting and meaningful.
I am currently a full-time student at New York University looking to share my knowledge with upcoming college applicants and aid middle and high school students in their academic career. My strongest subjects include middle and high school English, philosophy, and college prep.
As a student at a private university, I started off as a way to earn some extra money to help pay for my tuition. Somewhere along the way, however, I realized that I quite enjoyed working with students and helping them to realize their true potential.
As a high school student, I spent four years tutoring middle schoolers as part of an after-school buddy program at my community center. I also spent three years volunteering at my neighborhood YMCA, working with various age groups and facilitating homework help. I am also a student at a top-tier university, NYU, and have been nominated for the Elaine Kuntz Memorial writing prize, for which results will be released in the coming months.

At our first meeting, I do not charge any payment. I like to instead set aside this time to get to know the student a little bit and foster a relationship with them so that they will feel comfortable around me and not feel shy about asking questions. I also like to take this time to learn about the student's study habits and where their strengths and weaknesses may lie; doing so helps me to get a better feel of how to structure our future sessions.
Primarily middle and high school students, but I am ready and willing to work with any age groups who want to learn.
Look for someone who you think you could be friends with! It is so important to be comfortable with your tutor so that you don't feel hesitant to ask questions or be vulnerable.

For the first meeting, I do not charge anything! But if the client feels that I am a right fit for them, going forward, I charge $25 per hour, open to negotiation based on the family's financial situation-- better learning should be accessible to everyone!
