About Jaclyn

I am a certified Elementary Teacher with a Masters in Special Education! I am passionate about my profession in Education and want to support all students during this chaotic time; please reach out! I have endless resources and tools to provide for studnets of any elemetary age (K-5th Grade). I have working in Literacy Intervention for 2 years, before that I have been working within ELementary Schools my whole college career until graduating in 2017! I am a new teacher with so many ideas and ways to help students succeed!

When I was in 4th grade; I was diagnosed with a rare but severe illness that chnaged my life. I was hospitalized for a month and spent another month re-learning how to walk, talk, and catching back up to my (now 5th grade) peers. The doctors worked tiredlessly to ensure my health and well-being, but the teachers I had worked around the clock to teach me kindergarten-4th grade material in a matter of monthes so I could return to school and finish 5th grade with my classmates. I could never re-pay the work they put in and the time that they spent with me; but it showed me the power of a quality education. It taught me how much I wanted to pay that feeling forward to many students of my own, and show them what it feels like to be loved, cared for, and appreciated.

In 2017, I graduated with my Undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Women/ Gender Studies. I feel that the W&G Studies brought a perspective of inclusiveness and effective communication skills that are required in any student-parent-teacher relationship!

In 2020, I graduated again with my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction Special Education. This allowed me education to understand how to be the most effective educator I can be for all of my students. While going to school, I was getting valuable in-school training while working at a high school for 2 years as a paraprofessional with students that were falling behind or needed extra support outside of the classroom.

About the lesson

When meeting a new student; I have a process I go through to introduce myself, as well as allow us to get to know each other. This will allow me to also get to see your students strengths, as well as areas that need support. We can then create a learning plan together that will best fit the needs of your student, as well as involve the family and at-home supports. This is a team effort, and I value open communication and common understandings! Feel free to chat with me and I'm sure we will be a great fit to bring your student to new heights!

In my time as an educator, I have worked within multiple rural High School and Elementary settings. In my High School years, I worked as a paraprofessional with a wide range of students with a large spectrum of needs. In my Elementary time, I am more recently working with students who do not yet qualify for Special Education services, but need additional supports that cannot be given in the classroom. I have worked with Special Education, however, and are more than capable to accommodate needs in any capacity. Reach out to me with your individual concerns and I am sure we can see if I would be a good fit!

To a student looking to hire a teacher- I would say to ask many questions! Make sure you get to know the teacher at hand and ensure they would be a good fit with you and for your needs. There is no harm in meeting a teacher and seeing if you click with them, before hiring them! Make sure you know their background and how much they know about the subject you need help with. I am very qualified in English and Literacy in any grade and age, but can work with students on math in more of the Elementary levels. When you meet a teacher for the first time- have questions ready to get to know them, and make sure they can help you in the best way you learn!

More recently, I have deeply enjoyed my time working back in the Elementary School setting. Students at this age need so much support during this crazy time of virtual learning. Within the past few weeks, I had a student who came to our meeting and expressed her exhaustion. She said that school is so hard lately, but coming to see me makes her happy. I expressed my gratitute to her and asked what I did to make her so happy? Her response- "Ms. Vitelli you are so smiley and it makes understand hard things (literacy and math). I like reading and talking with you" My heart expoded! Students can be so powerful in their words, even when they do not realize it!

Before talking to teachers about what you need, think about this-

What can a teacher do to help me? What am I having a hard time with that can be supported? Where do I tend to get frustrated?

These are just a couple questions you can consider and can begin an effective conversation with a teacher about where your needs can be best supported. Your success is the most important, and we would love to know what you think we can do to help, before we can help point you in the right direction.

For my pricing, I believe quality tutoring should not break the bank. I want to help all students and believe that private tutoring can not only indivualize this crazy virutal learning we are currently in, but BEST support the needs of all students. To cover my time and resources, my rate are as follows:

For Elementary age (Grade K-5 Multi-Subject):

$35 for a half hour session, $50 for a 45 minute, and $70 for an hour session.

For High School age (Grade 6-9 English):

$35 for a half hour session, and $50 for a 45 minute session

I pay out of pocket for subscriptions to books and to have resources. The price also includes the additional time I will take to pre-plan for our individual sessions and depends on the amount of resources and time I will need to plan for. If you would like to book multiple sessions, I would be happy to give a bundle discount the more sessions we book in a week. Let's chat!
