About Salena
Hi everyone! I hope you are all having an amazing day! My name is Salena and I am a high school senior who spends time to tutor other kids who are in need of help in classes. I specialize in English but I am also skilled in math too! I've tutored middle school kids for 4 years already and I have to say, I've had such a good time helping them understand the content of their classes! Not only do I learn lots from them, but they are happily engaged to learn as well! To proudly say, I have never had one student say that they failed a test or a quiz after my tutoring lessons with them! To add on about myself, I will be graduating from high school soon and beginning college in the Fall of 2021 as a business student! I can describe myself as optimistic, creative, and fun. I am an honors/honor roll student who is taking AP classes and on the side, participate in cheer/dance! I'm open to any request for tutoring! Let's connect! I started tutoring around middle school or the beginning of highs school. My guidance counselor and teachers encouraged me to start tutoring other kids based on my exceptional performance in all my classes.
I've been an Honors English student ever since middle school and I'm currently taking college-level courses in high school! I tutor kids online and in person at the library and I'm open to any requests for tutoring.

My typical process for working with a new student is to first get to know each other better and introduce myself further to make them feel comfortable. Then, I'll gradually ask them how their classes are going and ask student's what their weaknesses and strengths are. From this information, I'll have a better understanding of how the student is doing in class and what materials they need to go over in order to have a better to full understanding. At the end of the lesson, I promise that they will feel much better about the content of the assignments and will be ready to pass just about anything!
I've mostly worked with middle school students and some high school students. But, I'm open to any types of students who need help!
