Ms.Dawson is a wonderful teacher to work with. She pushes me to my limits and used to stay after school for hours just to help me make up missing work. She also stood after school one time for a one on one to really help me understand the novel that we were assigned for class and I ended up passing her class and promoting to the next grade.

Mrs. Dawson took each student into account when preparing her lesson plans. Because of her dedication, and drive towards her students; my daughter has been placed in AP English. I am grateful to have her be a part of my daughter’s academic success.

I loved how patient and thorough she was in breaking down things for me. While writing my personal statement for college Ms. Dawson aided me in a way that put everything in perspective and for that I am grateful.

This teacher is very approachable, patient and determined. she's a teacher that every student would ask for not to mention shes unbiased.

What I like about working with Practical Language Arts Tutoring was when I needed help she would let me stay on her lunch break to make sure I understand everything one by one. If I needed help writing an essay she would give me examples and if that didn't help she would help me step by step.

What I appreciated while working with the Practical language Arts Tutoring is the tutors great way of teaching. Everything being taught is clear and concise. The tutor is always there to make sure that the student is making progress even when they struggle with a topic. I’ve had a great time learning from my tutor and I believe that many others will too!!

Here overall teaching, she helps everyone and makes sure that the whole class understands before moving on, she also makes class so fun to learn. :)

I am an alumni student from Frederick Douglass Academy, it has been a year since I graduated and I am now in college. I must say that Ms.Dawson is a great teacher. She is very understanding and flexible when it came to me and my studies. Without her, I wouldn't been able to graduate in time and now study Psychology. Her ability to explain and get me to understand my work can be viewed as patient and knowledgeable. I totally recommend her as a tutor, you will not regret it.

Ms.Dawson made every class she taught interesting and that helped me to understand the lesson better and get good grades in her class.

Overall she cares about her students, she makes sure that we understand everything and if we don’t she takes the time to help us fully understand. Couldn’t ask for a better teacher.

One aspect of Ms. Dawson's teaching that I enjoyed was how hard she pushed each and every one of her students to reach their potential. Even when her students gave up, she saw the burning light of talent and intelligence in everyone. Ms. Dawson never advocated for one child more than she did for the other. She treated everyone as equals no matter our variety of differences. Another aspect that I respect about Ms. Dawson is how well she knew the concepts she had taught. Not only did she know the concept, but she was able to verbalize her knowledge and explain it in ways for all of the students to grasp and recollect when it deemed necessary.

Working with Ms.Dawson really changed the way I wrote my essays and short paragraphs. She changed my vocabulary tremendously for example, instead of using such words as similarities, create, and many I know use comparison, devise and versatile.

I like the way Ms. Dawson gives the students chance to do their work when they are in need of help. Also she will break down what ever that is troubling you into pieces till you get it.

Ms.Dawson was my favorite teacher. When u don’t understand something she would take her time to explain it to you till to understand. In this subject I enjoyed learning new vocabulary words to make my grammar better. It also helped me with my essay.

I appreciated the concern for students and Ms. Dawson’s ability to always be available for assistance for children who needed it. In addition, she consistently kept track of student progress and was sure to speak with those who were falling behind and would give feedback to all of her students. Ms. Dawson’s experience with both middle school as well as high school students has been beneficial to both parties as her approach to motivating kids to learn was conveyed in a respectful and encouraging manner, resulting in more dedicated and hardworking students. Treating learners as matured young adults gave students an ideal mindset moving forward in their education and opened them up to more responsibility.

She was the best English teacher if you didn’t understand she will make sure you understand she’s shows every student with respect. She would be the best tutor for you and anyone else.

She’s a great teacher with a lot of patience. Many teachers would move on to another topic even if you don’t get the topic. On the other hand, she would make sure that you actually get the concept of the topic and make sure you understand everything.

Working with Mrs.Dawson has been the most amazing experience because she helped me improve my English skills. The lesson arrangement was very interesting and useful, can widen your vision, and improve your English skill as well. Whenever she taught a lesson I felt as if time was passing by very fast because of how enjoyable the lesson was. Mrs. Dawson is very easy to talk to, kind and friendly. I am now going to the 11th grade, looking forward to taking Ap English classes with the help of Mrs. Dawson's lessons which I now follow to this day.

I loved the energy that was going on through the air in Language arts because u build such a nice bond and learn how to use what you learn in that class to communicate with others and I can say one thing Ms.Dawson always wanted the best for you by showing discipline but also setting no limits on your learning
