About Christine
I have been a teacher for many years, and am passionate about English education, especially for speakers of other languages. I've taught English to students of all ages and will tailor lessons to your specific needs. Whether you are preparing for a test (TOEFL and SAT) or just need to improve your public speaking, grammar, reading, writing, or listening, I am the teacher for you!
In addition, I teach Mandarin Chinese and Japanese. I have lived in China for 3 years, majored in Chinese, and graduated with honors. I have also lived in Japan and majored in that language as well. I am qualified to teach beginner to intermediate students in the language!
I started my formal teaching career in the Republic of Georgia, as an English speaking co-teacher. From there, I moved to Guangzhou, China for 2.5 years before relocating the US. I am currently taking a Master's degree in Education and working at a high school in Culpeper, VA.
I have Bachelor's degrees in Chinese and Japanese, experience teaching ESL students of all ages and in all academic environments since 2013, am TESOL certified, and have a long history tutoring.

I assess your current academic standing in the subject of your choice and then ask what your goals are. From my understanding of your accomplishment and goals, we develop your curriculum together.
Students from age 2 to age 60!
Choose one who is willing to tailer the lessons to you. Don't get a teacher who isn't ready to spend time looking out for your needs.
My private students are my good friends. My most favorite story is that over the past three months, I have helped a woman improve her English to the point where she feels confident and capable going to parties and dinners where the only speakers are English speakers!
