About Erica
I have a Master's Degree in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and have taught ESL with a specialization in accent modification since 1998. I have helped hundreds of people be better understood when speaking English.
I love helping people communicate more effectively. When a student who is proficient in English and has struggled to be understood starts to be understood, I feel proud and deeply satisfied.
I became interested in teaching English after living in Italy and taking Italian as a Second Language classes. I had wonderful teachers and learned the language and culture of Italy. I wanted to replicate that experience for people learning English in America.
I have always had friends from other countries and I saw how difficult it was for them to be understood by some Americans, due to their accents. I knew this was something that could be changed, and that's how I began working in the field of accent modification.
I have a Master's degree in teaching English as a Second Language to adults (1998, Elms College, Chicopee, MA) and am certified in the Compton P-ESL Accent Modification Method (2006).
From 2006 - 2010, I operated "Speak Easy Accent Modification" and provided corporate accent modification training to businesses in Massachusetts.

At our first meeting, we will discuss your goals, your learning styles, and your timeline, and then we'll set up a plan for our meetings. We will meet in person and use recorders (digital or analog) to analyze your speech. Remote lessons aren't possibe, due to the nature of this training.
I have worked with people from all over the world and in all professions. I developed a bit of a speciality in working with Japanese cell biologists after I had great success with one student who recommended me to several of his colleagues.

Perfect! I am a native speaker of Russian living in the USA for many years, with good fluency and gramma in spoken and written English.
I have been practicing American pronunciation and intonation with Erica for a few months and greatly enjoy her lessons and methods of teaching.
Erica is an American tutor, but she is fluent in a few languages other than just English, which always make a specialist more efficient. During lessons Erica always comes up with different speech and audio activities, that makes sessions fly by faster and more fun. This tutor herself has a wide array of interests and knowledge, so she can easily speak on the topics that interests you. Her nice and upbeat personality and non-judgmental approach make you relax and just have fun at sessions.
I would highly recommend Erica to any non- native English speaker who is trying to improve their speech and advance in their career.Perfect! It was a pleasure to work with Erica. She is very knowledgeable, experienced, and uses a variety of teaching methods tailored to individual student’s needs.
