About Natasha
Hi, I'm Natasha, and I'm a visual artist from London, UK. I have lived in Boulder for 1 year now, and I absolutely love it!
After graduating in Fine Art in 2003, I have exhibited my paintings in mainstream galleries in London, South Korea, The USA, to far-flung places deep in The Amazon Rainforest.
My passion is working with children, and inspiring them to think creatively and delve into thier imaginations. I spent several formative years working as a Fine Arts Teacher in an International school in South Korea, whereby I created an art programme from the ground up for pre-K children to grade 6.
I have also been artist in residence at schools in the UK - undertaking groundbreaking creative projects with 240 children - collaborating with painting murals and other large scale permenant displays of art.
I like to work large scale with children, to build confidence and make them understand that there are no limits to creativity.
Example lassons may include: Collage, acrylic/watercolor painting, working with air-dried clay, making puppets and characters, design your own mandala, drawing from the imagination.
Now I am enjoying working in my Boulder studio, and teaching privately. I teach children with all different needs and personalities however, I specialise in teaching children who are prehaps a little more shy and more introverted, who prehaps don't thrive in a group/class environment. I find 1-1 lessons really helps build thier confidence. I love seeing children blossom, and find thier unique creative voices.

I got started in teaching, as many years ago I was working in corporate entartainments agency in London. I would find hundreds of artists work in film, international corporate events, but also as workshop leaders and intructors at smaller events. I really loved the idea of these world class preformers and artists sharing thier unique talents with children, and inspiring them. I too started to hold some workshops in London, and then I headed overseas and became passionate about working with children who had little access to arts education.

I like to start working with each new student, by having a "getting to know you" introduction via email/phone before we comence the first class. I can then tailor the classes and curriculum to each specific student, and get a good sense of what you as a client want to get out of the class.
I have worked with all kinds of students, from pre-K to middle school, to adults. I don't discriminate! Adults are just bigger kids! My speciality is seeing us all as individuals, and understanding how I can work with that unique personality.
My most rewarding times have been working with Korean children overseas, who had little faith in their own creativity, or thier own unique creative processes and turning them into creative superstars!
I would advise a student, who is looking to hire a teacher such as me to understand that we all have a unique creative process, and that we are all different. If you come to me, I will tailor the class to you specifically. If you want to play more, we can play more. If you want to be more meditive, we can also do that. You have the power to create your lessons with me, and to collaborate with me as an artist if you so wish!
I recently branched out and held cupcake decorating classes for children. We made little 3D characters and animals out of decorators fondant. I just loved this workshop, as it integrated me more into the Boulder community, and I had adults and corporate parties coming through the doors too. It was so popular, some of the parents wouldn't want to leave, and notably some of the dads joined the workshop too!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Think about what you want to get out of the class. Do you want to break free from your left-brain and really unleash your creativity, or do you want to know how to draw that apple perfectly? Do you need structure, or do you work better with looser guidelines?

Natasha teaches my children once a month. They are 6 and 9 years old. I can tell you that one day a month is one they really look forward to. They always come home happy and with amazing works of art. At work every month my co workers ask me to show them what the kids brought home this time. Natasha is very patient and listens to the children and allows them to express themselves as they are. I am really happy she takes the time to provide my children lessons.
I hired Miss Natasha as an art teacher at my retreat company in Spain. She made all my clients feel at ease, and provided a fun and engaging class, whereby she showed us all how to create our own mandalas. She instructed us, but also guided us into trusting our own inner, unique creative process. It was such an interesting art class, and meditation experience.
