About Emily
*I graduated from Auburn where I majored in Chemistry Education. During college, I worked as a one-on-one tutor in the library and as a group tutor for Chem 101 classes.
*For the past four years, I have been teaching a mixture of Chemistry I, PreAP Chemistry I, and Chemistry II classes at a highly-ranked 7A high school.
*I am around chemistry all day every day, and I make it my mission to help students succeed in a subject that is typically known to be one of the most difficult classes in high school. It is important to me to make the content accessible for students and craft explanations that make it easier for them to understand.
*While tutoring, I also try to help students build "study skills" that help them better manage the rigor of the class on their own. Several of the students I have tutored eventually "graduate" from my services and become better able to function independently in their college and high school classes. :)
I love helping students take a difficult class and become confident in their capacity for learning!
I have always loved helping others! I majored in Chemistry Education in college and have been living the dream of teaching chemistry at the high school level ever since. :)
I received a B.S. in Chemistry Education from Auburn University. While in college, I worked as a one-on-one peer chemistry tutor in the library and served as a group review facilitator for Chem 101 classes.
For the past 4 years, I have been teaching various levels of chemistry at a highly-ranked 7A high school.
I know chemistry can be challenging, but I make it my personal mission to help provide explanations and problem-solving approaches that can make it accessible to any student willing to dig in and learn!
I also incorporate study skills into my tutoring sessions to help you become better able to function independently as a student in a rigorous class. Several of my students have "graduated" from needing my services once learning the proper study methods and approaches to a chemistry class. :)

When a student contacts me, I reply as soon as possible via email. We set up a tutoring day/time, and then hold an online tutoring session using an online platform.
I have experience tutoring students taking chemistry at both the high school and college level. At the college level, I tutor the equivalents of Chem 101 and 102.

She was very patient and will work practice problems with you until you understand the concept. She will review the material until you are comfortable with moving on. She helped me with college level material in preparation for a test and I wouldn’t have been able to pass the class without her help.
She was not only helpful but patient. She made sure that I fully understood the concepts before moving on to another one. She also capitalized on using the concepts we’d already discussed to further develop an understanding of them. Most helpful tutor I’ve ever used!
