About Ivy
I am a student at UCA studying to become a physician. My major is in Biology, so I have had many biology and chemistry courses. These are my favorite subjects and I love helping other people understand them. I have worked with many students over the years and I enjoy helping people learn. I started tutoring when I was in high school and I have continued to do so in college.
In high school, a few of my friends were having difficulties with our AP chemistry course, so I decided I would start having tutoring sessions to help them better understand. It then developed to me tutoring a few people around my neighborhood who were having difficulty with homeschooling lessions.
Since I am a biology major, I have taken many and biology courses to obtain my degree. I have taken biology I, biology II, genetics, cell biology, ecology, immunology, chemistry I, chemistry II, organic chemistry I, organic chemsitry II, biochemsitry, and I am taking more courses in the fall. I have taken a few teaching coureses to better prepare me to be able to help students learn and I have tutored at my university.

I like to start out by asking the students what they have trouble with the why they think they are not understanding it. I like to ask what way the student learns best so we can use that to help them better understand. I also ask the student to tell me how much they know on the subject, that way we can built up on what they already understand.
I have worked with students of all ages from elementary, to high school, to college.
