About Parker
I enjoy seeing my student's facial expressions change as they finally grasp a difficult concept. I enjoy using my passion for STEM to instill a passion in others and help them to foster their own skills. I am a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College located in Lancaster, PA where I earned my BA in chemistry and was a member of the wrestling team. I am currently pursuing my MS in biotechnology at Johns Hopkins University. I am in a health science intensive program where I am also taught the necessary skills for leadership and teamwork. I plan to attend medical school within the next several years. I have experience designing and delivering experimental laboratory classes to elementary school students. My background in chemistry and biology have prepared me well to share my knowledge of the material with others.
I always enjoyed working with classmates when studying. I found that teaching others helped to bolster my own understanding. I think that I can make a difference in the young community by taking what I have learned and my passion for it and passing it on.
I have a BA in chemistry and I am in my final semester of my MS in biotechnology. I have also performed chemistry research at my undergraduate institution. I am a pre-medical student and have a thorough understand of the biological and medical sciences. I am well versed in mathematics including algebra, geometry, and calculus, as well as physics. I have designed science experimental courses for elementary school students where I taught them about chemistry and geology through exciting laboratory experiments.

When working with a new student my first steps include getting to know each other. I think that connecting with people on a deeper level is very important for communication, another important piece of the learning process. Next, I would talk with them about what material they are finding difficult. I would follow-up by working with them to understand how they learn best so that I can provide them with the best learning experience, whether that is through visual images like drawings and pictures or a descriptive conversation that details each aspect of the material.
I have worked with peers, as well as elementary school students.
Make sure that you find someone that has a personable attitude and shows that they care. If the person is not invested in helping the student, then the student will likely not improve.
I recently visited Philadelphia and visited the Philadelphia Museum of Art. I enjoyed the medieval armaments exhibit with the knights armor the most.

Think about specifically what material is giving you issues and why they seem difficult. Evaluate your habits and think about what habits you have right now and what new ones might improve your learning and academic skills.
