About Garrick
My real experience as an amateur fighter has gifted me with a true mind of a prizefighter. I have knowledge of the mental strength it takes to build the body and mind of a fighter. I have worked with several coaches and am a constant student of the fight game.
As your instructor my priorities are to teach self-defense fighting skills, and condition your body into the warrior that is laying dormant inside all of us. Boxing fundamentals are the core of my teaching philosophy, which is followed by complete body conditioning.
Students who choose me as their instructor will receive insight from a man who has won many fights, lost several, only to see everything as a win-win situation towards self-improvement and realization.
I like sharing my experience and helping people learn that boxing is a beautiful science that can be beneficial in everyone's life, even if it isn't in a self-defense situation. Learning how to box and defend yourself will build your confidence in all areas of your life.
Learning any self-defensive martial art helps gear our lives towards avoiding fear-based choices and helps rewire us towards more love-based choices that will eventually lead to a more fulfilled existence.
As I was competing as a collegiate boxer, I started the USC Boxing Club as its first official president and taught classes twice a week, while still training on my own and attending academic courses. I fell in love with the sweet science of boxing and seeing students awaken their own passion and enthusiasm for seeking their own improvement.

Gaging their experience, level of fitness, and goals. Then take them through a warm up and basic workout to assess the level of intensity required for them to achieve the most efficient level of growth that they can handle.
Young children ages from 4-13, young adults ages from 17-21.
I would advise that growth and learning may not always be comfortable and easy, and the comfort zone is where dreams go to die. We must fight our fears of failure and excuse-making to the bitter end, and only then can you look back on your life and say "I achieved". I can only teach technical skills and give advice, but only the student can cultivate the fiery perserverance within themselves.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Have a vision for who and what you will become in the next 1-5 years, maintain that vision, work towards that every spare minute you can muster, and you will become what you envision.

It's obvious that Garrick has many years of experience as a boxer and a trainer. There's a huge difference between training with someone who has real fight experience versus someone who's only ever trained on mitts/bags and that's why I love training with Garrick. He has real fighting experience in boxing and other martial arts so he really knows what he's talking about. I highly recommend.
Garrick is very patient and will work with you! I have no prior boxing experience and athletic is not a word best used to describe me. Garrick has been great as an instructor he guided me through each exercise, making sure to repeat things I don't understand. Not only is his teaching effective, he gives very sound advice and prioritizes the comfort of each client. His motto is "whatever works best for you." Lessons are personalized for each client just communicate what you would like to work on and he will accommodate. I am glad I have Garrick to guide me through the wonderful world of boxing. Cannot wait for my next session!

Garrick is really good at teaching me the fundamentals of boxing. He really helped me improve on my technique. Plus he gave me some good tips to do while shadow boxing at home.
