About Lauren
At Bio&Chem Mastery, my goal is to help every student be successful in their biology and chemistry courses! I know this area of science can be a huge hurdle for many students, but with Bio&Chem Mastery I can help your student raise their grades as much as two letter grades! With over three years of online tutoring experience, Bio&Chem Mastery is designed to tutor students from the comfort of their own homes. Each tutoring session is tailored to the student's needs: whether you need homework help, quiz or test preparation, or clarification on difficult subjects, Bio&Chem Mastery has you covered! As the owner of Bio&Chem Mastery, I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology and an International Baccalaureate Diploma with an emphasis on Biology and Chemistry. I look forward to working with you!
When I started tutoring, I began as a volunteer for my local church. After working with these kids week after week and seeing how much progress they were making in their classes, I knew this was something that I wanted to pursue! I'm really passionate about providing tools for a successful education, so working as a tutor seemed like a perfect fit.
I have been working as a tutor for over six years! But since the pandemic began in 2019, I started my own online tutoring platform for students looking for help in Biology and Chemistry. Three years later, I've gotten to work with so many bright students and help them raise their grades, master biology and chemistry concepts, and even advance into medical professions! I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Georgia; while biology is my first love and my specialty, I also have ten years of experience with advanced chemistry courses as well!

Every time I meet with a new student, my goal is to understand what they would like to accomplish in their course! Some students just want help with their homework while other students are preparing for a career in Biology or Chemistry- it's important to me that I understand what the student desires from our tutoring sessions so we can make the most use of our time! I also will take time to ask the student a few questions about their schedule to find a regular meeting time that will work best for us and I may ask the student to gather a few class materials, such as a syllabus, to send my way. Overall, the first meeting is a chance for students to let me know what they would like to get out of this tutoring experience so I can help them achieve their goals!
I typically work with high school students! Whether just starting out as a freshman in high school or finishing up as a senior in high school, I have worked with a variety of age levels!
My advice would be to find a tutor that makes themselves truly available to you! I've been a student for many years, and the most frustrating thing to me was when I didn't understand a concept well but I couldn't receive help from my tutors because of their limited hours. At Bio&Chem Mastery, all students have my personal phone number to reach me anytime! Anytime a student needs to change or add a tutoring session to the week, it's my priority to find a time as quickly as possible to meet with that student.
Recently, one of my former students reached out to me to thank me for helping her in her AP Biology course. She is currently a nursing major at her university, and I couldn't be more proud! It's so rewarding to see how my students can use the knowledge they've gained to pursue their educational goals.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Before reaching out to a tutor, I believe it's important to keep in mind that a tutor is there to help you, not to do the work for you! My job is to provide you with the resources and knowledge you need to be successful in your class; I can't complete the class for you.
