About Gianluca
I have multiple years of tutoring experience in upper division economics courses and Python in university. I use a very hands on approach to teaching new material.
Python is such a powerful language that allows one to accomplish and automate so many tasks. I use it daily for data and stock analysis, and I love being able to share that knowledge with new programmers.
I first started teaching in university as a tutor in upper division microeconomics.
I have a degree in Economics and Mathematics from University of California, Santa Cruz.
I first started using python as a quantitative research analyst at a propietary trading firm. I continued to build my knowledge as an RA for a professor in the UCSC economics department, and through my own projects. The Computer Science department hired me as a tutor for Intro to Python, and I also helped students privately.
I was also hired by the university to tutor and TA various upper and lower division econoimcs courses.

Completing mini projects is the most effective way to become a stronger programmer. I usually teach tutees the necessary recipes to complete a project, and then have the student construct an algorithm that accomplishes a specific task independently.
I have taught privately, in small groups, and also large groups.
No one really learns Python in it's entirety - one learns to complete particular tasks using Python. For example, I am proficient in predictive modelling and am currently teaching myself machine learning, but I don't know how to code a graphical game. Make sure your tutors expertise is aligned with what it is you want to do with the language. You will be able to get more out of your tutor this way even though there is somewhat of a set curriculum for beginners.
