About Frances
My goal is to help elementary, middle, or high school students build the skills necessary to succeed academically through creative problem-solving, collaboration and discussion, and practice. My strengths include patience when working with students of different academic levels, organization when explaining a problem in a detailed manner, and fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages students to think.
- I am currently a Cornell Engineering undergrad majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering, minoring in Mechanical Engineering. 3.5 GPA
- High school graduate of Academy for Math, Science, and Engineering. 4.0 GPA
- 1530 SAT (790 Math, 740 Reading & Writing); 800 SAT Math II; 760 SAT Physics

I like getting to know my students personally. Establishing trust and comfort is important so my typical process for working with new students is asking general questions about his or her interests/general background, what he or she has trouble with and potential reasons why, and how he or she learns the most effectively. Every student learns differently, so I want to tailor my teaching to match the individual's needs.
I specialize in MATH and PHYSICS. I can also teach ENGLISH and offer insightful advice into the college application process.

I typically work with students for 2-4 hour blocks depending on their schedule and what they need. My rate is $25-40 per hour depending on the material.
