I will ask all students the following questions:
1. Why do want to study acting?
2. What things,hobbies,talents, gifts do you Have?
3.Do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert?
Next, I will share a little about my acting and performing background and without notice render a monologue and or song. This will instantaneous give the student a expectation that they too can perform witj confidence.
4. I will thst the body and voice are your instruments and must be fine tuned the same way one tunes a musical instrument. Both have tissue and muscles that help the actor in his or her performance. ( The face is a muscle,eyes, and voice must hard be exercised for maximum performance.
5. The next step is to explain the importance of warm-up for actors,i.e. body exercises, vocal exercises i.e. "tongue-twisters".
