About Douglas
I am an experienced educator and theatre teacher with over 20 years of teaching and leadership experience in the UK and internationally. Most recently, I served as Head of Creative Arts and Drama at an international school, where I led successful programmes in performance, literature, public speaking, and exam preparation. I have extensive experience working with students, including preparing learners for IGCSE, IB and LAMDA examinations. My teaching style is calm, encouraging, and highly structured, helping students to build confidence, clarity, and strong communication skills. I am particularly skilled at supporting students who feel anxious or unsure, enabling them to make rapid and measurable progress. As an IB examiner, I bring a clear understanding of assessment criteria and academic expectations, ensuring that students receive focused, practical guidance that leads to real improvement. I pride myself on being reliable, professional, and well-prepared, and I create a supportive online learning environment where students feel respected and motivated.

My approach to lessons is very practical and based on students' individual needs and capabilities. Typical lessons are 40 minutes and will always combine language skills. I have been teaching for over 20 years in International schools in Thailand and the UAE and have had great success in preparing students for high stakes exams. KS4 IGCSE Drama students and KS5 IB Language and Literature / Theatre & LAMDA students only, please.
