About Oky
With 15 years of experience both in and around the pool as an elite swimmer and as a coach, I bring a deep understanding of swimming technique, athlete development, and water safety to every lesson I teach. Whether you're taking your very first strokes or training to shave seconds off your competitive times, I’m here to guide you with a personalized, supportive, and highly professional approach.
I speak fluent english and french, and can manage in spanish as well

My coaching philosophy is rooted in building confidence, technique, and a lifelong love for swimming. I emphasize proper form and stroke efficiency from the very beginning, using a combination of demonstration, video analysis, drills, and positive reinforcement. I tailor each session to the swimmer’s current ability and learning style—whether they're visual, kinesthetic, or auditory learners. I also integrate land-based training to enhance strength, mobility, and injury prevention.
Key techniques I use include:
Progressive Skill Development: Breaking down each stroke into phases and focusing on mastery of each part before combining them.
Drill-Based Learning: Repetitive but varied drills that target specific technical elements (e.g., high elbow recovery in freestyle etc).
Real-Time Feedback: On-deck corrections and underwater analysis for immediate improvements.
Mental Coaching: Goal-setting, race visualization, and confidence-building strategies, especially for competitive swimmers.
