About John
Hello! I'm a Bachelor of Science in Psychology graduate living in Auckland, New Zealand, with over 16 years of professional experience in leadership, coaching, and people management. I currently work in a management role, where I mentor, develop, and support individuals to achieve their goals—skills that naturally carry over into tutoring.
I understand that every student learns differently, so I take the time to explain concepts in a simple, patient, and encouraging way. My goal is not only to help students improve their grades but also to build their confidence and enjoyment of learning.
I tutor English, Social Studies, Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, Geography, and Current Events for primary, intermediate, and secondary school students. I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to match their learning style, pace, and goals. My approach is patient, encouraging, and interactive, helping students build confidence while developing a strong understanding of the subject rather than simply memorizing information.
Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, although shorter or longer sessions can be arranged depending on the student's needs. I also help students develop effective study habits, critical thinking, and exam preparation skills.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and have over 16 years of professional experience working with people in leadership, coaching, and mentoring roles. My background has equipped me with excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt my teaching to different personalities and learning needs.
