About Sophia
I am originally from Princeton, NJ, but moved to Michigan for college where I attended the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), where I studied Political Science and Psychology. After graduation, I moved to Chicago to become a Special Education teacher. While I was in my first two years of teaching, I pursued my master’s in Special Education. As a Special Education teacher, I have proven success in using accommodations to best support my students' needs as well as individualizing instruction, which make me uniquely qualified as a tutor. I am very proud to say that my students have consistently gotten the highest reading growth in the district as measured by PSAT/SAT growth

My name is Sophia, and I am a licensed special education teacher in Chicago. Although I specialize in reading/writing and executive functioning interventions for students with special needs, I offer tutoring in many areas. My tutoring services are targeted for students with/without special needs in humanities subjects, such as reading, writing, and social studies. In addition, I offer tutoring services for the following test prep courses: SAT, ACT, PSAT, SSAT, and ISEE. I look forward to helping you reach out goals academically and grow as a student.
