I am a certified educator and instructional coach with over 17 years of experience, specializing in Grades 3–8 Math, Algebra I, Algebra II, and Praxis exam preparation. I provide structured, personalized instruction designed to build confidence and mastery. I am professional, reliable, and intentional in my approach, ensuring each session is well-prepared and focused on student success. My approach as a tutor is structured, student-centered, and results-driven. I meet each student where they are academically and build understanding step by step, ensuring concepts are mastered—not memorized. I use clear explanations, guided practice, real-world examples, and ongoing checks for understanding to support lasting learning.
My teaching methods and techniques include:
-Diagnostic questioning to identify strengths and gaps
-Step-by-step modeling and worked examples
-Guided practice followed by independent application
-Targeted feedback and skill reinforcement
-Test-taking strategies for assessments and Praxis exams
Each lesson begins with a brief check-in and review of prior learning. I then introduce or reinforce the target skill using clear instruction and examples. Students practice with support, followed by independent work to build confidence. Lessons end with a summary, feedback, and a plan for next steps.
What sets me apart is my experience as both a classroom educator and instructional coach. I understand not only what students need to learn, but how they learn best. For Praxis candidates, I also incorporate instructional reasoning and test strategy, helping future teachers succeed on the exam and in the classroom.
