About Jeremy
I am a Canadian citizen who has been learning Mandarin as a second language since the age of twelve. I have recently completed a bachelor's degree from East China Normal University in China in the field of Chinese Language and Literature. My degree program was domestic-stream, which means that all courses and exams, etc. were taken together with Chinese students. Because of this, I was able to learn all aspects of the language intensively over the course of a five-year period. Apart from academics, I also have experience working and volunteering in China, including being a Mandarin language tour guide as well as ESL teacher.

I aim to create an authentic language environment for my students by means of focusing on real-life contexts as well as contexts specific to life in China. I integrate a variety of cultural knowledge within my lessons in order to allow students to become more in-tune with the way native speakers think and the associations they make during everyday use of the language.
